THE TOWN OF LOOMIS
THE FRIENDS OF THE LOOMIS LIBRARY, LIBRARY AD HOC, TRANSITION COMMITTEE, AND THE SAVE THE LOOMIS LIBRARY CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS
The volunteers raised awareness and extensive community outreach regarding Placer County plans for the Loomis Library Branch closure. They worked hundreds of hours on delivering presentations and updates to the Town Council; raising campaign funding, receiving endorsements from local businesses and community leaders; encouraged Town residents to get involved by attending Town Council and County meetings; accepted donations, cleaned, organized and cataloged 12,147+ books; organized a successful Book Fair raising $7,000 for books; initiated community programs for educational enrichment; they have spent over 3347 hours just on library operations since September 2016; and have been able to keep the library open three days a week. Thank you volunteers, for all the long hours of service and commitment you have given to the Loomis community!
