Spice Club | California: Edible Flowers

With special guest, Lisa Thibodeaux. Many flowers are edible, however not every edible flower is palatable. The word “edible” means you may safely consume the flower. Unfortunately, it does not always mean the flavor is appealing. Some flowers such as lavender have a bitter or astringent taste and are best used sparingly as a garnish. The same flower grown in different locations can taste different. Lisa will introduce us to the best locally sourced edible flowers and how to use them in creating dishes that are as lovely to look at as they are to eat. She will bring in samples from her own garden and share growing tips as well as her favorite recipes.
