Zoning Ordinance Amendment
The Town of Loomis General Plan 6th Cycle Housing Element was adopted on August 17, 2021. The Housing Element includes programs requiring that the Zoning Ordinance is updated to reflect the adopted Housing Element and its programs, including rezoning of at least 2.2 acres of land for high density residential use. Since the Housing Element was adopted in 2021 and the remainder of the General Plan Update was adopted in April 2024, the Town is required to amend the Zoning Ordinance to be in compliance and consistent with the policies, programs, and land use diagram of the adopted General Plan, particularly Housing Element programs requiring specific ordinance changes. The amendments include zoning district changes to match the General Plan land use diagram, changes to the allowed uses per zone for consistency with current State law, amendments to definitions, and amendments to zone restrictions and regulations for certain housing uses in accordance with current State law.
