Hazard Planning for Loomis – Help Us Make the Best Plan Possible
The Town of Loomis is working with Placer County and 33 other jurisdictions to develop a Hazard Mitigation Plan which identifies local natural disaster hazards and then develops plans for how to avoid or mitigate them.
Natural disasters include winds, snow, fire, flood, landslides and much more. To build a strong plan, as many local hazards need to be identified as possible. Resident and business input is critical!
Investing in Hazard Mitigation Planning significantly benefits to the communities, with a 4 to 1 return for floods and a 6 to 1 return in the case of fire. In addition, each jurisdiction that participates becomes eligible for a variety of state and federal grants and other funding.

Businesses Need to Prepare!
For businesses, one of the most critical preparation actions is to have paperwork, financial records and documentation for your business. Without this documentation, receiving assistance in a disaster from the Federal Emergency Management Agency is nearly impossible.
What records do you need following a disaster?
Financial records need to be up to date—even when you’re busy. Too often, businesses are caught off guard by disasters, only to find they lack the documentation needed to qualify for government assistance. Regular financial reporting, preferably stored securely in the cloud, can make all the difference when time is critical.
The bottom line? Do the prep work now, before an emergency hits. It could determine whether or not your business is eligible for recovery aid later.
