Placer’s Transit Plan: Your Feedback on our Recommended Service Plan

Share your thoughts on our recommended service plan! The Placer County Transportation Agency (PCTPA) is completing a five-year plan for changes to Auburn Transit and Placer County Transit (PCT) services in western Placer County as part of our Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA). The plan recommends ways to better connect communities and make transit more useful to the public. It was created using insights from research, surveys, expert advice, and stakeholder feedback to ensure the changes are practical and align with riders’ needs for improved service.

We invite your comments on the recommended service plan by August 16, 2024.

About the Project

The Placer County Transportation Planning Agency (PCTPA) is leading efforts in partnership with Auburn Transit, PCT, and Roseville Transit to improve transit service coordination and integration in western Placer County. This project will occur in two phases.

Phase One: Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA)

The COA is a process of understanding how our current transportation services are working, determining how to meet future transit-demand needs, and providing recommendations to improve transit services overall. The COA commenced in July 2023 and is estimated to be completed by Fall 2024.

Phase Two: Short-Range Transportation Plan (SRTP)

The SRTP builds upon the analysis and recommendations of the COA and determines how improvements will be funded and what strategic decisions need to be made in the near term to continue transportation improvements in the coming years. The results from Roseville Transit’s COA, which is being done concurrently and in coordination with PCTPA’s western Placer County COA, will be incorporated into a unified SRTP. The SRTP is anticipated to be completed in early 2025.
