How many ADUs can I build on my property?

Each parcel in the residential zone is allowed to have up to three dwellings. One primary dwelling unit, one accessory home (ADU) and Junior ADU. For more ADU information, please visit our ADU building page.

What is the maximum size an ADU can be?

An attached ADU may be up to fifty percent of the existing living area of the primary residence. A detached ADU is limited to a maximum total floor area of 1,200 square feet. For more information on ADUs, please visit our ADU building page.

Is a permit required for a new Accessory Home?

Yes, a building permit is required for an ADU. Property owners interested in constructing an ADU on their property are encouraged to speak with the Planning Department team prior to submittal. For more information on ADUs, please visit our ADU building page.

Where are Accessory Homes allowed?
